Spiced Croutons

These spiced croutons pack lots of flavor. I use annatto oil to give them added color. Try adding these croutons to a garden salad or your favorite soup.

1 loaf of soft French bread, cut into 1-inch cubes

2 tablespoons of olive oil

2 tablespoons of annatto oil

1 tablespoon of dried oregano

1 and 1/2 teaspoons of paprika

1 tablespoon of chile powder

¾ teaspoon of kosher salt

2 teaspoons of garlic powder

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees.

In a large bowl, combine the olive oil and annatto oil, oregano, chile powder, paprika, garlic powder and kosher salt. Whisk thoroughly and then add the cubed French bread. Make sure to coat the bread evenly.

Place the croutons onto a large baking sheet and bake until crisp and has browned in color in about 10-15 minutes. Toss the croutons halfway through the cooking process so that they can cook evenly. Let cool completely before serving.
