Southern Coleslaw Recipe

This easy and flavorful Southern Coleslaw Recipe is a snap to make. This simple recipe I believe tastes better than some restaurant versions.

1 1lb bag of Dole Classic Coleslaw

1/4 cup of sugar

1/2 teaspoon of salt

1/4 teaspoon of crushed black pepper

1/2 cup of evaporated milk

1/2 cup of regular or light mayonnaise

1/2 cup of buttermilk

1 celery stalk finely diced

1 small red onion, finely diced

1/4 teaspoon of cayenne pepper (optional)

Place the Dole coleslaw in a large mixing bowl. Sprinkle with the 1/4 cup of sugar. Add the salt, pepper and cayenne pepper. Drench with the evaporated milk.

Cover and put mixture in the fridge for about 15 minutes.

While coleslaw is in fridge, In another bowl, combine the mayonnaise, buttermilk, diced celery and red onion.

Mix well with cabbage mixture.

Refrigerate for an hour before serving to let the flavors blend.
