Shrimp Patties Recipe

This Shrimp Patties recipe is similar to creating a crab cake recipe in it’s preparation. Plan it as an appetizer or part of a meal.

1 ˝ pound of shrimp, cooked chopped

4 cups of French bread

2 tablespoons of unsalted butter

1 small red bell pepper, diced

1 small green bell pepper, diced

1 small red onion, diced

3 eggs

2 tablespoon of fresh parsley, chopped finely

˝ teaspoon of oregano

˝ teaspoon of cayenne pepper

Hot sauce or Tabasco to taste

Salt and pepper to taste

Vegetable oil

Combine the shrimp in a large bowl with 3 cups of the fresh breadcrumbs.

In a frying pan, melt the unsalted butter and sauté the bell peppers and red onion. Add the vegetables to the chopped shrimp.

In a bowl, beat the eggs and add in the parsley, oregano and spices, Mix thoroughly and add to shrimp mixture. Add the 1-cup of remaining breadcrumbs and mix thoroughly.

In a skillet on medium heat, pour the vegetable oil to cover ˝ inch of the pan. Using a spoon or your hands, form patties of about four inches and place into skillet. Fry on both sides until golden brown in color. Serve with a tarter sauce or Remoulade sauce.
