Mock Apple Pie

by Wanda Doucette
(Yarmouth NS Canada)

1 1/4 cup white sugar
2 tsp cream of tarter
2 Cups Hot water

2 cans of apple pie filling

24 Ritz Crackers

First three things:
Put this in a pot, when it starts to boil, drop in 24 Ritz Crackers, keep boiling until the crackers are transparent, about 10 minutes, pour into Pie crust pan, dot with butter.

Sprinkle Nutmeg or Cinnamon over apple pie filling and pour into pie pan.

Put on top crust, bake in 400 degrees oven for about 35 minutes or until crust is brown.

* I sometimes use less water and substitute the water for Apple Juice to 1/2 cup
* Don't stir the Crackers, Just press down in the hot syrup
