Creamy Shrimp Linguini

This Creamy Shrimp Linguini recipe is a very decadent dish made with heavy cream.

8 oz of linguini, cooked

2 pounds of shrimp, peeled

2 cloves of garlic, minced

1 small shallot, minced

2 tablespoons of olive oil

1 tablespoon of butter, unsalted

2 cups of heavy cream

2 teaspoons of crushed red pepper

2 teaspoons of Worcestershire sauce

1/ 2 teaspoon of kosher salt

1 tablespoon of lemon zest

1 tablespoon of fresh lemon juice

Chopped scallions for garnish

Heat a large skillet over medium high heat. Add the olive oil, garlic, shallots, red pepper and lemon zest. Stir the seasonings and sauté the vegetables for about 1 minute.

Add the shrimp to the pan and cook the mixture for another minute. Add the heavy cream, Worcestershire sauce and salt. Bring it to a boil and then reduce to a simmer. The sauce will thicken as it cooks. (About 2 to 3 minutes)

When the cream has reduced by half in the sauce, add the butter and lemon juice. Using a pair of tongs, add the cooked linguine to the pan and toss well.

Before serving, garnish with chopped scallions.
